Lagavulin
Created at Lagavulin, this exotic single malt drink of Islay, it is special
for its full bodied texture, strongness and peatiness, leaving behind a trace of subtle smoothness in the mouth. Possessed by Diageo, Lagavulin is manufactured at United Distillers & Vintners.
Carrying on the tradition, of being matured slowly for 16 long years in oak barrels, the lengthiest process of maturation for a classic malt, this exotic drink is a symbol of tradition.
The longer processes of distillation and aging also ensures that Lagavulin develops a unique taste of richness with slight peatiness, the spirit that matures with its own time.
Located in the Lagavulin town, this distillery was different from Laphroaig and used different
peat water from the later. Officially established from 1816, it is rumoured that the process at the Lagavulin distillery, is much copied from Laphroaig.
