Royal Lochnagar

Being one of the best in the exquisite series of single malt scotch whiskies, Royal Lochnagar is created in one of the whisky making areas in the highlands of Scotland. The distillery is established at Lochnagar, Royal Deeside.

HISTORY

In the year 1824, the initial Lochnagar distillery was destroyed in fire in unconventional situation, followed by the second one in the year 1841. The renewed version of the Lochnagar was built by John Begg in the year 1845. After Prince Albert from Balmoral Castle was invited for a visit at the distillery by John Begg, it won the Royal Warrant in the year 1848. The castle was the home for the queen among the highlands. The following day, the Queen and Prince Albert visited the Lochnagar distillery along with their children. In recent times, the Royal Lochnagar is possessed by Diageo, and comparatively it manufactures lesser quantity of whisky, the majority of which is been used in creating the exotic Johnnie Walker blue and black labels.
