Vat 69

Vat 69, an exquisite scotch is created by “William Sanderson & Son”. An experienced committee of specialists were appointed to taste and evaluate the perfectly balanced whisky type that were matured in 100 specifically differentiated barrels. The barrel marked as 69, the number, was
concluded to be the best of the lot, and thus since then was named as Vat69, whose initial bottling was done in Port bottles.

History

William Sanderson was born in the year 1839, in Leith, located in Scotland. Initially when he was 13 years old, he was already employed under a liquor and wine producer and gradually by the year 1863, he had started his own business in manufacturing blended whisky and spirits. In the year 1884, William Sanderson purchased the Glengarioch Distillery, which was located at the center of a huge barley field. In addition, another big and firm society had a control on the quantity of
production, for this reason, Sanderson made sure to have new items to be ready to get blended. To overcome this, Sanderson joined hands with Bell and Usher and established an organization with an aim to manufacture grain whisky, the same which is still famous today by the name of “North British Distillery”. Some of the Malt whiskies which are required to be blended into the Vat 69,
were taken from the “Royal Lochnagar Distillery” which was possessed by John Begg, who eventually was also a friend of Sanderson.

Blend

It is an exotic and perfectly balanced drink of about 40 different grain and malt whiskies, being mixed at an excellent matured state in order to guarantee the best of the blend. This elaborates the fact that an eight year old light whisky, when reaching the prime summit of ripening and that came down from Lowlands, adds on to the same taste to the mixture, similar to a 18 years matured peaty malt Islay drink.
